DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the inaction of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, asking why the agency failed to register a case or initiate an inquiry into widespread corruption in police equipment procurement despite explicit orders from the state Home Secretary. Stalin observed that while the ruling AIADMK's habit of protecting corrupt politicians is well established, the anti-corruption agency's deliberate shielding of complicit officials severely tarnishes institutional integrity.
Stalin pointed out that multi-crore tenders for surveillance cameras, digital communication gear, and police equipment had been tainted by inflated costs and procedural manipulation. The fact that an anti-graft agency refused to act even upon formal directives from the highest bureaucratic authority of the Home Department demonstrates complete political subversion of statutory enforcement mechanisms. Such institutional paralysis encourages corrupt networks to siphon off public funds earmarked for modernizing law enforcement.
The opposition leader demanded that the DVAC immediately register a regular enquiry and question all senior officials and contractors involved in the procurement irregularities. Stalin affirmed that bureaucratic complicity in executive graft will not escape legal accountability under a future progressive administration.
