DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed outrage over allegations that local police in Coimbatore attempted to cover up the cause of a catastrophic highway accident that critically injured a young woman named Anuradha. Eyewitness reports and civic complaints revealed that an unauthorized wooden flagpole erected by ruling AIADMK cadres suddenly collapsed onto the roadway, causing the young motorist to lose control and suffer horrific injuries resulting in leg amputation.

Stalin condemned the police administration for allegedly distorting facts and shielding ruling party functionaries responsible for installing the illegal political structure along a busy public thoroughfare. He pointed out that ordinary citizens continue to pay with their lives and limbs because of the ruling party's reckless addiction to roadside publicity hoardings and partisan banners. Despite explicit orders from the High Court prohibiting such hazardous structures, the state administration displays total contempt for citizen safety.
