DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a statement following the delivery of the Ayodhya title dispute verdict by a five-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court of India. Stalin observed that with the apex court having delivered its final judgment on the decades-old dispute, all sections of society must approach the judicial outcome with maturity, restraint, and mutual respect, entirely free from sectarian rancour or communal hostility.
Stalin expressed earnest hope that the verdict will be implemented with careful vigilance to ensure that India's rich pluralistic fabric and constitutional secularism remain completely unharmed. He emphasized that peaceful coexistence, fraternity, and communal harmony represent the essential bedrock of the Indian republic. Political forces and civic groups must refrain from provocative celebrations or divisive actions that could disturb social tranquillity or inflict pain upon minority communities.
The opposition leader reaffirmed that the DMK consistently champions secularism, communal fraternity, and equal protection for every religious group. Stalin urged central and state law enforcement agencies to maintain strict vigilance and prevent anti-social elements from disrupting public peace, underscoring that unity in diversity must remain India's guiding principle.
