DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned the AIADMK administration following an investigative media report by The News Minute documenting the severe decay of housing units built under the Periyar Ninaivu Samathuvapuram Scheme. Stalin highlighted that the Samathuvapuram model, conceived and implemented by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, was an internationally acclaimed social justice initiative designed to eradicate caste divisions by fostering integrated living communities across rural Tamil Nadu.

Stalin expressed deep dismay that the landmark welfare programme has been abandoned to ruin by an incompetent and indifferent state regime. Dilapidated houses, broken drainage networks, and chronic civic neglect across Samathuvapuram habitations reflect the ruling administration's hostility toward progressive social egalitarian projects. He accused the AIADMK regime of transforming Tamil Nadu into an administrative wasteland where pioneering social justice programmes are deliberately dismantled.

The opposition leader demanded that the state government immediately allocate dedicated funds to rehabilitate and repair all Samathuvapuram settlements without further delay. Stalin declared that once the DMK returns to power, every Samathuvapuram community will be fully restored, modern civic amenities will be renewed, and the legacy of Periyar will be safeguarded.
