DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned right-wing attempts to appropriate the immortal Tamil philosopher Thiruvalluvar, characterizing efforts by sectarian groups to claim him for their political party as a grave betrayal of Tamil culture. Stalin noted that Valluvar gave humanity the universal declaration that all human beings are equal by birth—pirappokkum ella uyirkkum—transcending sectarian dogmas, religious divisions, and discriminatory caste hierarchies.

Stalin emphasized that no matter how many layers of partisan saffron paint sectarian factions attempt to apply to Valluvar, their ideological colouring will inevitably wash away before historical reality. Thirukkural represents a universal, secular moral treatise cherished by all humanity, completely devoid of exclusionary rituals or religious orthodoxy. He advised reactionary political forces that instead of attempting to drape sacred Tamil poets in sectarian garb, they should study Thirukkural and reform their discriminatory worldview.

The opposition leader reaffirmed that the DMK will firmly defend Tamil Nadu's rich heritage of secularism, humanism, and egalitarianism against divisive communal incursions. Stalin concluded that Valluvar belongs to all humanity, and the Dravidian movement will never allow narrow sectarian forces to degrade his universal philosophy.
