DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned the state Health Minister and department officials for adopting tyrannical measures to suppress the peaceful agitation of government doctors instead of addressing their legitimate statutory grievances. Stalin highlighted that the health administration resorted to divisive tactics, threatening protesting doctors with breaks in service, adverse entries in conduct certificates, and arbitrary punitive transfers to distant rural posts.
Stalin characterized the government's retaliatory measures as an exhibition of pure administrative tyranny that degrades professional medical dignity. Instead of engaging in constructive negotiations to resolve pay anomalies and staffing shortages, the ruling AIADMK regime chose to penalize dedicated doctors who have served public hospitals for decades. Creating an atmosphere of fear and institutional hostility among medical professionals severely undermines staff morale and paralyzes vital patient care across government medical college hospitals.
The opposition leader demanded the immediate cancellation of all punitive transfers, show-cause notices, and service break warnings issued against agitating doctors. Stalin asserted that a democratic government must resolve labor disputes through compassionate dialogue, warning that the DMK will firmly stand by government medical professionals until justice and dignity are restored.
