DMK president M.K. Stalin called upon Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to immediately invite protesting government doctors for direct official negotiations to address their long-standing professional grievances. Highlighting the critical role of state medical officers, Stalin stated that doctors serving across government hospitals and primary health centres constitute the vital lifeline for millions of impoverished citizens across Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that ignoring their reasonable demands endangers public welfare and healthcare stability.

Stalin observed that government doctors had launched an indefinite agitation pressing four key demands, including time-bound promotion pay bands and adequate clinical staffing ratios. However, the ruling AIADMK administration maintained an indifferent posture rather than engaging medical associations in constructive discussions. Stalin pointed out that continuous administrative obstinacy forces dedicated medical personnel into street agitations, severely disrupting outpatient services and routine medical consultations for working-class families who depend exclusively on state healthcare institutions.

The opposition leader demanded that Chief Minister Palaniswami abandon executive apathy, initiate personal talks without delay, and accept their justifiable demands. Ensuring dignity, fair remuneration, and adequate staffing for healthcare professionals remains an unavoidable governing duty for the administration.
