DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed party cadres and the public through a heartfelt letter celebrating the official revival of the historic Anna Centenary Library in Chennai. Conceived and constructed during the tenure of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to commemorate the centenary of rationalist icon C.N. Annadurai, the landmark institution had faced severe administrative neglect and hostile policy attempts under AIADMK rule. Stalin rejoiced that after nine years of systemic obstruction, the library was finally restored to vibrant life.
Stalin recalled that C.N. Annadurai always championed extensive reading and knowledge dissemination as the foundation for social empowerment and democratic progress. He stated that the grand library established by Annadurai's political successor Karunanidhi stands as an open invitation for young minds to pursue enlightenment. Stalin urged students, researchers, youth, and citizens from all walks of life to register as formal members, utilize its vast archival collections, and broaden their intellectual horizons.
The DMK leader emphasized that promoting libraries and protecting public intellectual spaces represents a central pillar of Dravidian cultural advancement. He vowed that the DMK will persistently foster accessible education across Tamil Nadu.
