DMK president M.K. Stalin urged the Tamil Nadu government to maintain the prestigious Anna Centenary Library in Kotturpuram with utmost administrative diligence, setting aside all partisan political prejudice. Stalin highlighted that the world-class facility, established to fulfill the intellectual thirst of students and scholars, has suffered chronic neglect due to executive vindictiveness under successive AIADMK administrations. He insisted that the government must actively address the operational shortcomings and infrastructural deficiencies experienced by thousands of daily student visitors.
Stalin pointed out that young men and women preparing for civil service examinations and higher research frequently face inadequate lighting, unkempt study halls, malfunctioning air conditioning systems, and delayed book procurements. He declared that an enlightened administration should take pride in nurturing such an extraordinary public knowledge repository rather than attempting to starve it of funds. Stalin emphasized that education and intellectual enrichment transcend partisan political rivalries.
The opposition leader demanded that the School Education Department allocate dedicated budgetary resources and appoint sufficient library staff. He affirmed that maintaining academic excellence and preserving modern educational infrastructure remain non-negotiable obligations for any civilized government in Tamil Nadu.
