DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted an energetic election campaign stop in the Ponnakudi area of Nanguneri Assembly constituency, addressing local residents and party workers. Advocating the victory of the Secular Progressive Alliance candidate, Stalin underscored the crucial significance of the by-election in expressing public dissatisfaction against the ruling AIADMK government. He noted that grassroots enthusiasm across the southern districts demonstrated a collective yearning for progressive political leadership and equitable regional development.

Stalin observed that rural communities in and around Ponnakudi had suffered extensively from agricultural downturns, rising input costs, and negligible state support. He accused the ruling dispensation of squandering public funds on empty propaganda rather than investing in local agro-processing units, irrigation maintenance, or rural healthcare centres.
