DMK president M.K. Stalin successfully concluded the first phase of his intensive election campaign in the Vikravandi Assembly constituency, seeking enthusiastic voter support for party candidate N. Pugazhenthi. Addressing a massive gathering of farmers and rural constituents, Stalin delivered a solemn policy commitment that the long-delayed Nandan Canal project would be fully executed and commissioned once the DMK returns to power in Tamil Nadu.

Stalin explained that the historic Nandan Canal scheme remains the agricultural lifeline for hundreds of farming villages across Villupuram and Tiruvannamalai districts, capable of irrigating vast acreage and recharging depleting groundwater tables throughout the agricultural belt. He condemned the AIADMK administration for deliberately putting the irrigation scheme on the backburner for eight years due to political lethargy and corruption. Stalin asserted that the DMK has always honored its electoral commitments and treats agricultural prosperity as a sacred governance responsibility.

The opposition leader appealed to the voters of Vikravandi to cast their ballots decisively on the Rising Sun symbol. He assured that Pugazhenthi would function as an accessible and dedicated representative to champion all developmental needs of the constituency.
