DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a well-attended election campaign gathering in Nemur village in the Vikravandi Assembly constituency, seeking a decisive mandate for party candidate N. Pugazhenthi. Welcomed warmly by party cadres and local agricultural families, Stalin emphasized that the by-election represented a crucial referendum on eight years of AIADMK governance. He noted that the ruling party had utterly failed to protect the interests of Tamil Nadu farmers and rural workers.
Stalin pointed out that agricultural distress in Nemur had worsened due to unseasonal dry spells, escalating fertilizer prices, and the state government's refusal to grant adequate input subsidies. He highlighted that while rural living standards plummeted, state ministers remained indifferent to grassroots suffering, focusing solely on retaining administrative power through opportunistic political pacts. Stalin stated that the Secular Progressive Alliance was formed to uphold democratic values, defend state autonomy, and implement progressive welfare policies.
The DMK leader urged the residents of Nemur to cast their votes for Pugazhenthi on the Rising Sun symbol. He assured that the candidate would remain dedicated to resolving local grievances and improving community infrastructure.
