DMK president M.K. Stalin spearheaded an energetic campaign rally in Vengamur village within the Vikravandi Assembly constituency, rallying voters behind party candidate N. Pugazhenthi. Addressing a gathering composed of agricultural laborers, weavers, and village youth, Stalin stated that the by-election offered an essential opportunity to register public protest against the ruling AIADMK government. He remarked that widespread administrative inertia had brought rural governance to a complete standstill across the district.
Stalin discussed specific problems confronting Vengamur, noting that residents suffered from irregular drinking water supply, damaged street surfaces, and an absence of local veterinary services for livestock. He pointed out that repeated appeals submitted to district authorities had produced no tangible action. Stalin reminded the crowd that previous DMK administrations prioritized rural livelihoods through concrete measures like the construction of Samathuvapurams, comprehensive rural road connectivity, and free electricity for irrigation pumpsets.
The opposition leader called upon the electors of Vengamur to vote decisively on the Rising Sun symbol. He assured the public that electing Pugazhenthi would ensure prompt legislative action on local infrastructure demands and responsive public service throughout the constituency.
