DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted an active campaign gathering in Athiyur Thirukkai village in the Vikravandi Assembly constituency, canvassing votes for party nominee N. Pugazhenthi. Speaking directly to local farmers, artisans, and women's self-help groups, Stalin emphasized the critical importance of the by-election in restoring responsive leadership to the constituency. He noted that rural communities throughout northern Tamil Nadu were demanding fundamental changes in administrative priorities and accountability.

Stalin pointed to severe local infrastructural neglect, noting that irrigation supply channels had fallen into disrepair and rural health centres lacked essential medications and staff. He criticized the state government for squandering public resources while ignoring basic rural distress caused by drought and rising farm input costs. Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK remains firmly rooted in championing rural communities, citing its historic governance record of implementing farm loan waivers and expanding welfare pensions across rural areas.

The DMK leader urged voters in Athiyur Thirukkai to turn out in large numbers on election day and vote for the Rising Sun symbol. He promised that Pugazhenthi would serve as a dedicated public representative for every resident.
