DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a well-attended campaign meeting in Parappadi village in the Nanguneri Assembly constituency, seeking a strong electoral mandate for alliance candidate Ruby Manoharan. Welcomed by enthusiastic slogans from party cadres and local agricultural families, Stalin stated that the by-election represented a crucial referendum on eight years of AIADMK governance. He noted that the ruling party had utterly failed to protect the interests of southern Tamil Nadu's working communities.
Stalin pointed out that agrarian distress in Parappadi had worsened due to prolonged dry spells, escalating input costs, and lack of adequate government support for rural cultivators. He highlighted that while rural living standards plummeted, state ministers remained indifferent to grassroots suffering, focusing solely on retaining administrative power through political compromises. Stalin stated that the Secular Progressive Alliance was formed to uphold democratic values, defend state autonomy, and implement progressive welfare policies across Tamil Nadu.
The DMK leader urged the residents of Parappadi to cast their votes for Ruby Manoharan on the Hand symbol. He assured that the candidate would remain dedicated to resolving local grievances and improving community infrastructure.
