DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted an extensive election campaign rally in Mavadi village within the Nanguneri Assembly constituency, seeking a decisive mandate for alliance nominee Ruby Manoharan. Addressing a well-attended gathering composed of local cultivators, rural women, and youth, Stalin stated that the by-election was a vital test of public confidence in the incumbent AIADMK administration. He remarked that citizens across southern Tamil Nadu were deeply dissatisfied with prolonged governance stagnation and executive inertia.
Stalin highlighted the difficulties faced by the residents of Mavadi, pointing to irregular drinking water distribution, poorly maintained village roads, and lack of timely agricultural subsidies for local farming families. He criticized the state government for failing to provide adequate relief during dry spells and ignoring rural infrastructure demands. Stalin pointed out that previous DMK administrations under M. Karunanidhi had created landmark irrigation schemes, constructed rural housing complexes, and waived farm loans to protect agrarian livelihoods throughout the state.
The DMK leader called upon the electors of Mavadi to vote unitedly on the Hand symbol. He promised that electing Ruby Manoharan would guarantee responsive legislative representation and persistent advocacy for regional development.
