DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a vibrant campaign meeting in the historic temple town of Thirukurungudi within the Nanguneri Assembly constituency, mobilizing support for alliance candidate Ruby Manoharan. Speaking directly to local traders, agriculturalists, and party workers, Stalin stressed that the by-election offered citizens an important opportunity to voice democratic protest against the ruling AIADMK government. He stated that the electorate across Tirunelveli district was eager to elect an energetic and committed representative.

Stalin discussed persistent local problems in Thirukurungudi, including inadequate civic infrastructure for visiting pilgrims, chronic drinking water shortages, and neglect of local irrigation tanks feeding downstream agricultural fields. He criticized the state administration for ignoring essential urban and rural infrastructure while leaving public welfare allocations underutilized. Stalin emphasized that DMK governance has historically championed balanced regional development, recalling past initiatives that upgraded municipal amenities, established healthcare centres, and expanded welfare pensions across southern districts.
