DMK president M.K. Stalin commenced an intensive election campaign tour across the Nanguneri Assembly constituency, seeking enthusiastic voter backing for Secular Progressive Alliance candidate Ruby Manoharan of the Indian National Congress. Addressing a large gathering of party workers, alliance partners, and local citizens at the campaign launch, Stalin declared that the by-election offered a timely platform to hold the ruling AIADMK government accountable for years of administrative stagnation. He emphasized that the alliance stood united in defending democratic norms and people's welfare.
Stalin highlighted the acute developmental neglect experienced by southern Tamil Nadu under the incumbent regime, pointing out that vital rural infrastructure, irrigation maintenance, and youth employment schemes remained largely abandoned. He recalled that during DMK governance under M. Karunanidhi, major industrial and welfare projects were initiated across Tirunelveli district, including the landmark Nanguneri Special Economic Zone designed to generate thousands of local jobs. Stalin criticized state ministers for failing to operationalize such projects.
The DMK leader called upon voters across all communities to turn out in large numbers on polling day and vote decisively for the Hand symbol to secure responsive representation.
