Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin urged the Union Government and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to immediately institute a high-level inquiry into systemic irregularities plaguing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. Stalin stated that mounting scandals involving fraudulent dual nativity certificates, inaccurate regional question paper translations, and widespread candidate impersonation have shattered the aspirations of deserving medical aspirants. He asserted that these fraudulent practices demonstrate that centralized testing creates avenues for corrupt networks to exploit students.

Stalin highlighted recent police revelations indicating that organized commercial syndicates facilitated proxy examinees to fraudulently clear medical entrance tests for affluent clients. Such grave malpractices severely undermine genuine academic merit while denying equitable opportunities to hardworking rural students who study under state curricula. Stalin noted that instead of ensuring standardized fairness, the national examination framework has subjected aspiring doctors to administrative confusion and institutional deceit.

He reiterated his demand that central authorities institute a comprehensive probe into examination centers, coaching institutes, and admission desks. Stalin called upon the state government to join hands in resisting standardized entrance exams, affirming that Tamil Nadu must regain its constitutional right to admit medical candidates based on higher secondary qualifying marks.
