DMK president M.K. Stalin called upon the Governor of Tamil Nadu and the Department of Higher Education to immediately revamp the curriculum at Anna University to reflect authentic Tamil history and cultural achievements. Stalin stated that while recent archaeological discoveries from Keezhadi have captivated global scholars by proving the exceptional antiquity and urban sophistication of Dravidian civilization, university curricula continue to ignore ancient Tamil contributions. He asserted that educational policy must honor regional heritage rather than promoting cultural hegemony.
Stalin expressed deep concern that academic authorities introduced syllabi tilted heavily toward sectarian texts while marginalizing classical Tamil philosophy, ethical treatises, and scientific literature. He argued that engineering and technical students benefit immensely when taught the innovative water management systems, architectural prowess, and maritime traditions developed by ancient Tamils. Erasing these indigenous achievements from university courses deprives future engineers of justifiable pride in their ancestral heritage.
He insisted that the state administration and university syndicates eliminate ideologically motivated syllabus modifications immediately. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently resist every covert attempt to impose culturally alien curricula on Tamil students, demanding that educational policies reflect secular principles and scientific rationalism.
