Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin urged the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu to transfer the criminal investigation into massive voter bribery during the Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar assembly by-election to the Central Bureau of Investigation. Stalin stated that public trust in democratic electoral processes and independent constitutional oversight has been severely eroded by official lethargy and executive interference in prosecuting electoral graft. He insisted that decisive central intervention remains vital to restore democratic credibility.

Stalin recalled that income tax raids uncovered extensive financial ledgers detailing systematic cash distributions of nearly ninety crore rupees to voters, with incriminating documents seized from ministerial premises. However, subsequent legal proceedings were systematically compromised by state agencies, leading to procedural lapses that shielded high-profile politicians from accountability. Stalin pointed out that when election authorities fail to pursue electoral bribery vigorously, it encourages unscrupulous political entities to subvert democratic mandates through illicit wealth.

He urged the Election Commission to demonstrate constitutional independence by initiating prompt legal measures to challenge quashed complaints. Stalin emphasized that the DMK will continue demanding judicial vigilance to protect democratic elections from illicit financial subversion across Tamil Nadu.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
