DMK president M.K. Stalin personally visited the residence of software engineer Subashree in Chennai, extending heartfelt condolences and solidarity to her grieving parents following her tragic death. Subashree lost her life when an illegal political hoarding erected by an AIADMK functionary collapsed on her motorcycle, causing a fatal traffic accident. Stalin stated that while no words can alleviate the parents' unimaginable grief, political leadership must take concrete, irreversible steps to ensure that no other family suffers such agony.
Stalin conveyed to the bereaved family that the DMK had already submitted a binding affidavit before the Madras High Court committing that the party will strictly refrain from erecting banners, cutouts, or hoardings. He assured them that this solemn legal pledge represents his personal resolve to transform political culture in Tamil Nadu. Stalin emphasized that genuine public affection and political support do not require reckless, dangerous displays that jeopardize the safety of daily commuters.
He reiterated his demand that authorities promptly arrest the absconding ruling party politician and enforce severe penalties against negligence. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will continue supporting Subashree's family in their quest for justice.
