DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the utter failure of state and central investigative agencies to take criminal action against AIADMK ministers and senior bureaucrats implicated in the Cognizant Technology Solutions bribery case. Stalin highlighted that while United States judicial authorities penalized the corporation for paying multimillion-dollar kickbacks to secure administrative approvals in Chennai, Tamil Nadu's anti-corruption agency has failed to file a preliminary complaint. He characterized this conspicuous administrative silence as deliberate institutional complicity.
Stalin asked why the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption remains completely paralyzed when foreign law enforcement agencies have established documented evidence of illicit payoffs to state officials. He further questioned whether the Union Government and the Central Bureau of Investigation are intentionally ignoring commercial graft to protect political allies in Tamil Nadu. Stalin stated that protecting corrupt public servants while foreign courts penalize commercial bribe-givers brings international disgrace to the state's administrative machinery.
He demanded that the state vigilance department register criminal cases immediately against the concerned ministers and planning officials. Stalin warned that the DMK will initiate judicial proceedings to ensure an independent investigation into all corporate kickbacks received by the ruling establishment.
