DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the AIADMK government's retrogressive decision to institute mandatory public board examinations for students in classes five and eight across Tamil Nadu schools. Stalin warned that imposing standardized board examinations on young children will drastically increase school dropouts, depriving economically disadvantaged and rural students of basic elementary education. He asserted that the state government is recklessly implementing the Union Government's draft National Education Policy even before its formal adoption.

Stalin pointed out that subjecting primary school students to the intense psychological pressure of public exams runs contrary to modern educational pedagogy and the foundational spirit of the Right to Education Act. Instead of upgrading classroom infrastructure, recruiting qualified teachers, and enhancing foundational learning outcomes, the administration has introduced elimination hurdles that disproportionately affect first-generation learners. Stalin stressed that educational policy must foster curiosity and social inclusion rather than instilling anxiety and fear in young minds.

He demanded the immediate withdrawal of the contentious examination notification to safeguard child welfare and academic access. Stalin pledged that the DMK will persistently oppose regressive educational policies, ensuring equitable learning opportunities for all children across Tamil Nadu.
