DMK president M.K. Stalin vehemently condemned the brutal assault on environmental and social activist Piyush Manush by a mob of over fifty people inside the BJP party office in Salem. Stalin pointed out that Manush had visited the premises to debate central government policies using factual documentation, only to be subjected to violent intimidation and physical abuse.
Stalin criticized ruling party elements for resorting to mob terror instead of offering civilized democratic counterarguments to public policy critiques. He emphasized that in a constitutional republic, citizens possess an inviolable right to question executive decisions, challenge economic policies, and demand accountability without fear of physical retaliation. The DMK leader expressed dismay at the brazenness of political party functionaries who take the law into their own hands while police authorities remain passive spectators.
Demanding an impartial police investigation and the swift arrest of all individuals involved in the mob attack, Stalin warned that political violence must never be normalized in Tamil Nadu. He affirmed that the DMK stands in solidarity with independent social activists and will continue to challenge authoritarian tactics that endanger citizen safety.
