DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the ruling AIADMK administration regarding the realization of industrial investments promised during two consecutive Global Investors Meets. Stalin asked whether the 5.42 lakh crore rupees in capital investments promised through 402 signed memorandums of understanding had materialized on the ground or resulted in tangible employment opportunities for youth in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for undertaking expensive foreign tours seven months after the conclusion of the 2019 investment meet. He pointed out that while state ministers had already conducted overseas tours prior to the summit, the Chief Minister's delayed foreign travel appeared purposeless, lavish, and wasteful. The DMK leader demanded a comprehensive white paper detailing the exact volume of foreign capital realized, operational factories established, and verified jobs created under the previous investment summits.
He emphasized that industrial expansion requires stable policy support, transparent governance, and robust infrastructure rather than sensational media announcements. Stalin asserted that the AIADMK government's failure to generate manufacturing growth had worsened unemployment across the state, reiterating that the DMK will continue to demand fiscal accountability and genuine economic governance.
