DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive public gathering at the 75th anniversary platinum jubilee conference of the Dravidar Kazhagam held in Salem. Commemorating the historic milestone of the movement founded by Thanthai Periyar, Stalin reflected on seven decades of transformative social justice struggles that eradicated caste hegemonies and established self-respect as a cornerstone of Tamil society.

Stalin recalled that Periyar's radical ideological vision challenged entrenched social orthodoxy, opened temple entry pathways, advocated women's liberation, and established communal reservations in education and government employment. He underscored the inseparable ideological relationship between the Dravidar Kazhagam and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, noting that political achievements in state governance were anchored in the social foundation laid by Periyar. Stalin warned that contemporary religious orthodoxies and authoritarian centralization seek to erode progressive social gains across the country.

He called upon the cadres of both organizations to unite against communal polarization and defend rationalism, secularism, and state rights with renewed vigor. Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian movement remains an unassailable ideological fortress protecting social dignity, scientific thinking, and equality for all citizens across Tamil Nadu.
