DMK president M.K. Stalin made a heartfelt appeal to protesting government doctors across Tamil Nadu, urging them to withdraw their indefinite hunger strike in view of critical patient needs and public healthcare emergencies. Stalin emphasized that while their professional grievances and demands for pay parity are entirely justified, poor patients relying on state medical institutions require immediate treatment and care.

Stalin pointed out that government hospitals and rural primary health centers serve the most impoverished sections of society who cannot afford expensive private medical care. He expressed deep concern that prolonged work stoppages and hunger strikes severely affect daily outpatient consultations, emergency surgeries, and maternal care. The DMK leader acknowledged the immense sacrifices and demanding working hours endured by state medical personnel in treating vast patient volumes with limited resources.

He urged the doctors to reconsider their extreme form of protest to protect vulnerable lives, while simultaneously pressing the state government to initiate immediate dialogue. Stalin asserted that the DMK fully supports the reasonable demands of government physicians and pledged that his party will advocate for proper staffing and fair pay progression.
