DMK president M.K. Stalin extended warm felicitations to the residents of Chennai on the historic milestone of the city's 380th founding anniversary. Celebrating Chennai as a vibrant cultural metropolis, Stalin highlighted that the capital city exemplifies an inclusive Samathuvapuram, transcending distinctions of caste, religion, language, and ethnicity to offer a welcoming home and economic opportunities to diverse communities from across Tamil Nadu and the nation.
Recalling the monumental infrastructure contributions executed under successive DMK governments, Stalin underscored the party's deep-rooted connection to Chennai's modernization. Key initiatives including the construction of the Gemini Flyover, the Tidel Park IT hub, the Koyambedu wholesale market complex, grade separators, and the Chennai Metro Rail project transformed Chennai into an international automotive, healthcare, and software destination. Stalin noted that visionary urban planning pioneered under M. Karunanidhi ensured that rapid modernization preserved the city's compassionate, egalitarian social ethos.
Pledging the DMK's unceasing commitment to urban progress, Stalin affirmed that the party will continually strive to maintain Chennai's preeminent standing on the global stage. He assured citizens of dedicated efforts to upgrade public infrastructure, sanitation, and sustainable water management across the metropolitan region.
