DMK president M.K. Stalin registered strong condemnation against the AIADMK government for sharply increasing the retail prices of state-run Aavin milk. Stalin described the steep price revision as an unjustifiable financial blow inflicted upon working-class, poor, and middle-class households across Tamil Nadu, where dairy forms an indispensable daily nutritional staple for growing children, nursing mothers, and elderly citizens.

Responding to the state government's claim that higher prices were necessary to ensure quality milk supply, Stalin countered that providing pure, affordable, and uncontaminated dairy products is the primary statutory obligation of a welfare state. He questioned why the ruling administration transferred the financial burden of its own administrative inefficiencies and procurement mismanagement onto innocent consumers. Under AIADMK governance, dairy cooperative societies have faced recurring corruption allegations, delayed payments to milk producers, and escalating overhead costs, leading to structural dysfunction across state milk unions.

Stalin demanded that the state cabinet immediately roll back the tariff hike and provide budgetary subsidies to stabilize Aavin retail rates. He reiterated that the DMK would vigorously oppose any anti-people measure that inflates basic food expenses and worsens living standards for common families.
