DMK president M.K. Stalin undertook an extensive personal visit across the rain-battered hill tracts of the Nilgiris district, directly meeting residents who suffered immense losses due to catastrophic landslides, flash floods, and incessant monsoon downpours. Stalin offered deep personal condolences and words of comfort to grieving families who lost loved ones, homes, and lifelong agricultural livelihoods, assuring them that the DMK would stand shoulder to shoulder with hill communities throughout their difficult rehabilitation journey.
During his ground inspection, Stalin praised DMK cadres, youth wing volunteers, and district organizers who mobilized immediately following the disaster to deliver vital humanitarian assistance. Braving precarious hill roads, severed bridges, and active mudslides, party workers established temporary kitchens, distributed food packets, clean drinking water, warm blankets, and essential medicines to stranded families across remote settlements. Stalin noted that the party's prompt, organized presence on the ground provided crucial immediate comfort while official government relief machinery struggled with bureaucratic delays.
Stalin urged party workers to sustain their selfless volunteer efforts until displaced families in relief camps are safely rehoused. He insisted that the state administration expedite compensation disbursements and rebuild damaged roads to restore normal life in the Nilgiris without further delay.
