DMK president M.K. Stalin commemorated the historic unveiling of the bronze statue of former Chief Minister and legendary Dravidian leader Dr. M. Karunanidhi at the Murasoli newspaper headquarters in Chennai. Stalin reflected on the deep emotional and ideological significance of the occasion, observing that the visionary who founded and nurtured Murasoli as the ideological voice of the Dravidian movement now stands commemorated as an eternal sentinel at the very institution he created.
Stalin emphasized that the intellectual presence, political wisdom, and philosophical fortitude of Kalaignar are needed more urgently in contemporary times than ever before. Modern India is witnessing aggressive assaults against rationalist thought, human self-respect, linguistic pride, Tamil identity, affirmative social justice, and state autonomy. Kalaignar's writings, legislative battles, and administrative policies successfully safeguarded Tamil Nadu from regressive socio-political trends for over six decades, laying down an enduring framework for regional empowerment and egalitarian growth.
Stalin urged all Dravidian cadres to draw inspiration from Kalaignar's unyielding ideological clarity to defeat communal and sectarian challenges. He declared that Murasoli will continue to illuminate the path toward equality, federalism, and social justice for future generations.
