DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted an interactive community outreach program at Somalapuram in the Gudiyatham assembly segment, campaigning for DMK candidate Kathir Anand in the Vellore parliamentary election. Stalin listened attentively to grievances presented by local weaving communities, agricultural laborers, and women's self-help groups regarding inadequate civic amenities and lack of governmental support.

During the interaction, residents expressed deep distress over the sharp decline in powerloom and handloom wages, aggravated by rising yarn costs and insufficient marketing linkages.
