DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly criticized the AIADMK administration after a state government Class 12 textbook claimed that the Tamil language is only 2,300 years old while asserting Sanskrit is 4,000 years old. Stalin expressed intense indignation over this misrepresentation, asking whether the ruling establishment in Fort St. George was operating as an authentic government for Tamil Nadu or functioning as a subservient administration promoting Sanskrit hegemony.
Stalin pointed out that renowned archaeological findings and linguistic scholarship have indisputably established the profound antiquity and classical eminence of the Tamil language. He accused the state school education department of willingly capitulating to saffron ideological pressures from New Delhi, distorting historical facts to undermine Dravidian cultural pride and linguistic heritage. Stalin stressed that tampering with school curricula to lower the standing of Tamil dishonors centuries of literary achievement and misleads the younger generation of students.
Demanding immediate withdrawal and correction of the erroneous textbook content, Stalin cautioned that Tamils will never tolerate insults to their mother tongue. He reiterated the DMK's steadfast commitment to defending Tamil language dignity against cultural and ideological erosion.
