DMK president M.K. Stalin sharply denounced the ruling AIADMK for voting in favor of the Triple Talaq Bill in Parliament, reversing its earlier stance and completely surrendering to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Stalin noted that after previously opposing the legislation, the AIADMK leadership compromised its declared position overnight, demonstrating complete servility toward the central ruling party at the expense of secular democratic principles and minority community sentiments.

Stalin emphasized that this capitulation is part of a persistent pattern of political subservience. He pointed out that the AIADMK had unreservedly supported the Right to Information Amendment Bill and the Motor Vehicles Bill, unquestioningly endorsing every legislative diktat introduced by the central government. Stalin remarked that having mortgaged itself to the BJP and adopted RSS ideological directives, the AIADMK functions merely as an obedient regional branch of the ruling party rather than an autonomous political entity.

He asserted that the people of Tamil Nadu clearly recognize this political betrayal and will deliver a fitting democratic verdict against the ruling dispensation. Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will persistently oppose regressive legislative measures and vigorously uphold federal democracy and minority welfare.
