DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a stern warning to the Union government over its decision to exclude regional languages from postal department recruitment examinations. Stalin condemned the move as an insidious attempt by the Bharatiya Janata Party administration to prevent qualified non-Hindi-speaking candidates from securing employment in central government departments across their own states.
Drawing parallels with state departments such as the electricity board where candidates from other states were recruited over local applicants, Stalin asserted that public employment patterns are being deliberately engineered to disadvantage native job seekers. He emphasized that administering postal examinations exclusively in English and Hindi directly discriminates against rural youth educated in the Tamil medium who possess the local knowledge needed for grassroots postal operations. Stalin announced that the DMK would launch intense political demonstrations and initiate comprehensive legal proceedings in the Madras High Court to challenge this unconstitutional exclusion.
He stressed that employment rights and linguistic equality are fundamental pillars for maintaining genuine federal harmony across India. Stalin pledged that the DMK will fiercely defend the employment opportunities and legitimate constitutional rights of Tamil youth against arbitrary discriminatory policies.
