DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a strong rebuke to ministers of the ruling AIADMK government, urging them to stop issuing complacent press statements from the air-conditioned corridors of Fort St. George and step into residential streets to witness the reality of the drinking water crisis. Stalin emphasized that administrative leaders must abandon monarchical arrogance, interact directly with struggling families, and understand the agonizing daily toil of citizens standing in serpentine queues for basic potable water.
Stalin pointed out that while working-class neighborhoods, suburban habitations, and rural villages were enduring unbearable shortages, senior ministers were actively engaged in denying the severity of the crisis through dismissive interviews. He stressed that concealing administrative failure through manufactured narratives will neither quench the public's thirst nor alleviate household suffering. Stalin demanded that the state machinery immediately mobilize emergency financial allocations, deploy municipal water supply tankers on war footing, and restore dried-up public borewells across all affected municipal corporations and town panchayats.
He asserted that accountable governance requires humility and proactive public intervention. Stalin cautioned the administration that people's patience was wearing thin amidst widespread official apathy.
