I wholeheartedly thank Chief Minister of Kerala @vijayanpinarayi for his timely offer to provide water to Tamil Nadu.
Urge Govt of Tamil Nadu to work with Govt of Kerala to help citizens of our state tide over this unprecedented water crisis.
DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed wholehearted appreciation to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his timely and generous humanitarian gesture offering to supply drinking water to Tamil Nadu during its acute water emergency. Stalin welcomed the Kerala government's offer to transport drinking water via railway wagons to Chennai, describing it as an inspiring manifestation of inter-state goodwill, neighborly solidarity, and genuine federal cooperation in a time of severe natural distress.
Stalin strongly urged the Government of Tamil Nadu to cast aside narrow political pride and immediately collaborate with the Kerala administration to work out the logistics of receiving and distributing the relief water. He expressed dismay over initial reports indicating that state ministers were hesitant to accept Kerala's goodwill gesture, emphasizing that when citizens in the state capital and surrounding areas are suffering from debilitating water deficits, executive leadership must welcome every source of genuine humanitarian assistance.
He noted that inter-state cooperation during natural crises strengthens democratic harmony between southern states. Stalin urged the Chief Minister to reciprocate Kerala's generosity with prompt executive coordination, ensuring that thirsty citizens receive urgent relief without unnecessary bureaucratic posturing.
