Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed deep anguish over the structural inequalities perpetuated by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, asserting that the standardized national exam is systematically widening disparities between students educated under state board curricula and those attending private Central Board of Secondary Education institutions. Stalin emphasized that NEET has turned the noble dream of medical education into an exclusionary preserve accessible only to affluent students who can afford expensive private coaching academies.

Stalin pointed out that rural, government school, and backward-class students from Tamil Nadu, despite securing outstanding marks in their higher secondary examinations, find themselves unfairly penalized by an alien testing framework that ignores regional syllabi and socio-economic realities. He questioned the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking when New Delhi will honor its lofty promises to safeguard state interests and protect regional educational equity. Stalin criticized the AIADMK government for acting as a docile spectator while the state's hard-won egalitarian admission system is dismantled.

He reaffirmed the DMK's unyielding resolve to continue the constitutional struggle for total exemption from NEET, ensuring that medical seats remain accessible to all deserving students.
