DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed deep alarm and distress over recurring incidents where students hailing from Tamil Nadu who move to New Delhi to pursue higher education and competitive examination coaching face systematic harassment, isolation, and psychological distress, tragically leading to loss of young lives. Stalin lamented that the untimely death of promising scholars pursuing their academic dreams in premier central institutions has become a recurring tragedy requiring urgent institutional intervention.

Stalin reminded the AIADMK state government that the DMK had repeatedly cautioned the administration about the lack of protective mechanisms and welfare infrastructure for Tamil students studying in the national capital. He criticized the state government for its continued indifference to the safety of these young scholars who face linguistic discrimination, unfamiliar environments, and institutional apathy in northern universities. Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu government immediately establish a dedicated student welfare cell in New Delhi, staffed by accessible liaison officers and counseling professionals to provide round-the-clock assistance and grievance redressal.

He emphasized that safeguarding the lives and dignity of Tamil youth is an inescapable governmental responsibility. Stalin reaffirmed DMK's commitment to standing by students and families.
