DMK president M.K. Stalin spearheaded a massive campaign rally in Ottapidaram assembly constituency, calling upon electors to vote decisively on May 19 to dismantle the corrupt AIADMK administration. Stalin stated that just as the people of Tamil Nadu had voted resolutely on April 18 to defeat the central Bharatiya Janata Party, they must now complete the democratic task by removing the unrepresentative state government on polling day.
Stalin highlighted the acute agrarian and industrial distress affecting Ottapidaram and the wider Thoothukudi region. Years of government negligence had left local farming communities without irrigation canal repairs, while drinking water scarcity plagued rural settlements. The brutal police firing against anti-Sterlite protesters remained an unhealed wound in the district, demonstrating the administration's utter disregard for human life and democratic rights. Stalin assured the public that the DMK-led alliance would deliver justice, restore communal harmony, and prioritize rural livelihood schemes.
Stalin urged the electorate to recognize the historic importance of the four vital assembly bye-elections. He called on citizens to reject administrative subservience and vote for the DMK to usher in a responsive, welfare-oriented state government across Tamil Nadu.
