DMK president M.K. Stalin urged the Chief Election Commissioner of India to intervene immediately and order the transparent recall of fifty Electronic Voting Machines transferred to Theni and twenty Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail units dispatched to Erode. Stalin warned that such unauthorized, clandestine movements of voting equipment after the conclusion of polling severely compromised democratic trust and raised grave suspicions of electoral tampering.
Stalin emphasized that the Election Commission must maintain absolute transparency and adhere strictly to established protocols governing the custody of polled electronic machines. The unexplained relocation of voting units into high-stakes constituencies without prior notification to opposition candidates created deep alarm among citizens and political parties alike. Stalin demanded that election authorities provide a detailed, verifiable explanation regarding the authorization, purpose, and chain of custody for these machines, ensuring that all transferred units are returned to secure, monitored storage immediately.
Stalin asserted that the integrity of the ballot is the bedrock of Indian democracy. He urged election authorities to act decisively without partisan bias to uphold public faith in the electoral process and prevent administrative misconduct during vote counting.
