Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive election rally in Ottapidaram in support of DMK nominee M.C. Shanmugaiah, calling upon the electorate to vote decisively under the Rising Sun symbol. Stalin asserted that this bye-election served as a decisive moment to punish the corrupt AIADMK regime for its gross betrayal of southern Tamil Nadu, characterized by administrative apathy, economic paralysis, and ruthless suppression of democratic dissent.

Stalin highlighted the severe developmental stagnation across Ottapidaram, pointing out that local irrigation channels remained silted, farm ponds had dried up, and drinking water schemes were deliberately neglected. Despite repeated appeals by the rural populace, the state government failed to execute comprehensive water supply projects, forcing women to purchase drinking water at exorbitant rates. In addition, thousands of workers dependent on salt pans, match factories, and agricultural fields suffered from absence of institutional welfare boards and escalating inflation.

Stalin promised that a DMK administration will actively champion the industrial and agricultural revival of Ottapidaram. He appealed to voters to elect the DMK candidate to usher in honest governance, people-centered policies, and democratic progress across Tamil Nadu.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
