DMK president M.K. Stalin demanded immediate accountability regarding who authorized revenue officials to enter the electronic voting machine storage facility at the Madurai Medical College strongroom without party representatives present. Stalin expressed severe suspicion over administrative complicity in assisting the ruling AIADMK, questioning whether polling records and voting machines remained secure with an entire month left before vote counting commenced.
Stalin pointed out that protocol mandates strict round-the-clock surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and prior written notification before opening any sensitive election storage areas. The surreptitious entry of officials into an active document verification room directly violated Election Commission directives, triggering widespread alarm among contesting candidates and political parties. When officials tamper with established security procedures behind closed doors, public trust in the neutrality of the entire electoral machinery is gravely compromised.
Stalin called upon the Election Commission of India to conduct an immediate, high-level inquiry, suspend delinquent officials, and install multi-layered security cordons around all strongrooms. He instructed alliance representatives to maintain unceasing, round-the-clock physical vigil outside counting centers across Tamil Nadu to prevent any surreptitious electoral manipulation. Democratic transparency must prevail without exception across all counting stations.
