Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered his final campaign address in Tiruvarur on the concluding day of election campaigning, reiterating the deep emotional and political significance of Kalaignar Karunanidhi's home constituency. Stalin observed that standing on this historic ground infused every cadre with renewed determination to defeat the corrupt AIADMK administration and bring an end to the authoritarian central regime in New Delhi.

Stalin reminded the massive gathering of Kalaignar's lifelong devotion to the upliftment of farmers, oppressed communities, and the working poor across the Cauvery delta. Under Kalaignar's visionary leadership, Tiruvarur witnessed landmark infrastructural achievements, including the establishment of the Government Medical College and Central University. In stark contrast, the current dispensation had subjected the district to continuous neglect, economic stagnation, and callous administrative apathy. Stalin emphasized that only an uncompromising, progressive administration could restore Tiruvarur's rightful prestige and guarantee sustained development.

Stalin made an impassioned plea to voters to turn out in record numbers and ensure a massive victory for the DMK candidate. He affirmed that this historic victory will herald a new dawn of democratic self-respect for all of Tamil Nadu.
