DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an energetic election campaign gathering in Sholinghur, urging voters to support the DMK alliance candidate in the crucial assembly bye-election. Stalin highlighted that Sholinghur possesses deep cultural heritage and a renowned handloom weaving community, but the town had suffered prolonged economic distress due to negligent administrative policies and heavy central taxation.

Stalin pointed out that thousands of handloom and powerloom weavers across Sholinghur were pushed into poverty because of unpredictable yarn costs, unpaid subsidies, and GST levied on essential weaving materials. At the same time, farming households in surrounding villages struggled with erratic power supply, lack of canal irrigation, and drying borewells, receiving zero meaningful support from the state agricultural ministry. Stalin emphasized that the AIADMK administration was completely disconnected from the struggles of artisans and agrarian workers, focusing solely on internal factional survival.

Stalin pledged that once elected, the DMK will eliminate unreasonable taxes on handloom goods, ensure subsidized raw materials for weavers, and modernize local irrigation tanks. He urged the people of Sholinghur to vote for the Rising Sun to elect accountable, welfare-oriented leadership.
