DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive, energized election campaign rally in Chidambaram constituency, passionately seeking the election of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi chief and alliance candidate Thol. Thirumavalavan. Stalin characterized Thirumavalavan as an uncompromising champion of social justice, Dalit emancipation, and constitutional democracy, whose powerful voice inside Parliament was urgently required to counter communal hegemony.
Stalin highlighted the acute challenges confronting Chidambaram and surrounding rural pockets, where agricultural laborers, tile factory workers, and marginalized communities suffered from administrative neglect, lack of steady employment, and inadequate civic infrastructure. Under the incumbent central and state regimes, atrocities against oppressed communities and attempts to dilute the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act had intensified alarmingly. Stalin pointed out that while reactionary forces sought to divide society along caste lines, the Secular Progressive Alliance remained firmly rooted in Periyar and Ambedkar's ideals of human dignity and social brotherhood.
Stalin urged the electorate of Chidambaram to vote decisively for the alliance candidate. He affirmed that electing Thirumavalavan with an overwhelming majority will deliver a resolute victory for oppressed communities and democratic pluralism. Grassroots equality and democratic rights will be defended without compromise.
