DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a colossal joint election campaign rally in Salem alongside Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi, demonstrating the formidable unity and political strength of the Secular Progressive Alliance. Stalin declared that this massive assembly symbolized the unyielding democratic resolve of the people of Tamil Nadu to bring down the authoritarian Bharatiya Janata Party government in New Delhi and restore inclusive national leadership.
Stalin praised Rahul Gandhi's principled campaign to defend constitutional values, secular harmony, and the economic rights of impoverished families across India. Highlighting the plight of Salem's renowned textile weavers, steel plant workers, sago manufacturers, and small farmers, Stalin noted that ill-conceived central policies and state-level apathy had shattered regional enterprise. At the same time, the forced acquisition of fertile agricultural lands for the controversial Salem-Chennai eight-lane expressway without farmer consent showed the cruel insensitivity of the incumbent rulers. Stalin affirmed that the alliance's progressive platform would guarantee debt relief, job generation, and farmer security.
Stalin urged the electorate of Salem to deliver an emphatic mandate for the alliance. Electing secular representatives will safeguard India's federal pluralism and usher in progressive national administration. Coordinated coalition action will restore economic justice across the country.
