DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive election campaign rally in the Harur reserved assembly constituency, campaigning intensively for the DMK and Secular Progressive Alliance candidates in the Dharmapuri parliamentary constituency and the crucial assembly bye-election. Stalin observed that Harur and its surrounding hilly tracts, home to significant populations of Scheduled Castes and tribal communities, had suffered profound administrative neglect under eight years of indifferent AIADMK rule.
Stalin highlighted the acute livelihood challenges confronting local tribal settlements and farming communities. Essential mountain roads connecting remote tribal hamlets remained unpaved, public healthcare facilities suffered from chronic doctor shortages, and safe drinking water was unavailable across vast rural stretches. In addition, the long-standing demand for the Dharmapuri-Morappur railway line project, sanctioned during the previous DMK-supported central government, was deliberately delayed and neglected by the BJP regime without adequate budgetary allocations. Local farmers cultivating millets, sugarcane, and vegetables had received zero price protection or irrigation support.
Stalin pledged that a DMK government will expedite the Morappur rail project, provide land pattas to tribal families, and ensure comprehensive rural development. He urged voters to support the Rising Sun.
