DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed an enthusiastic election campaign gathering in Pappireddipatti, campaigning for the DMK candidate in the crucial assembly bye-election and alliance nominees in the Dharmapuri Lok Sabha constituency. Stalin pointed out that Pappireddipatti, an agrarian heartland blessed with fertile lands along the Vaniyar and Ponnaiyar basins, had been plunged into severe agrarian distress due to eight years of utter neglect and broken promises under AIADMK governance.

Stalin highlighted the acute irrigation crisis in the region, where failure to implement comprehensive surplus water transfer schemes and construct check dams had led to depleting water tables, dry wells, and parched crop fields. Sugarcane farmers faced massive financial distress due to unpaid arrears from cooperative and private sugar mills, while sericulture and turmeric growers suffered from absent market interventions and lack of cold storage facilities. In addition, rural roads remained severely damaged, hindering farmers from transporting their produce to wholesale markets.

Stalin pledged that a DMK government will implement the Cauvery-Sarabanga and Vaniyar surplus irrigation schemes, clear sugarcane arrears with interest, and establish modern agricultural processing centers. He urged votes for the Rising Sun.
